GTX Corp Names Silicon Valley Tech VC as Advisor
and Hires Chief Scientist for Palo Alto Technology Center
Leader in 2WAYGPS Tracking Technology and the Personal Location Services (PLS)
Market Accelerates Growth with Two New Hires.
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 2008--GTX Corp (OTCBB: GTXO), a market
leader in the licensing of GPS empowered Personal Location Services (PLS)
technologies, announced today that they have signed agreements to have George
Lauro join the company as a Strategic Advisor and Joseph Kaminski as its new
Chief Scientist.
Mr. Lauro has a significant background in the Silicon Valley venture capital
community, currently serving as the CEO of Alteon Capital Partners and Managing
Partner of the West Coast office of the Wasserstein Perella Group. He is also a
Senior Advisor to the investment banking firms C.E. Unterberg, Towbin and
Needham & Company, while sitting on numerous boards as a director or observer.
Prior to founding Alteon, Lauro was Managing Director and a partner in Techfarm
Ventures. Before joining Wasserstein, he was Director of Rapid Commercialization
at IBM Headquarters, a central architect of IBM's Silicon Germanium (SiGe)
wireless IC strategy and Director of Business Development of IBM's Wireless
Products Business.
Mr. Lauro will have the title of Strategic Advisor at GTX Corp and will work
closely with senior management and the board of directors. He has sat on 11
company boards including Peregrine Semiconductor (silicon on sapphire mixed
signal chips), SMaL Camera (CMOS imagers), HotRail (terabit switch fabrics),
ChipX (structured ASICs), SandCraft (MIPS-based control plane processors),
Triscend (configurable embedded processors), Cognigine (OC768 packet processors)
and publicly traded Software Publishing Corp. He completed a BSEE from Brown
University, an MBA from U Penn’s Wharton School of Business and graduate work in
Astronautics at MIT. He holds 23 patents for inventions in GPS, RFID, RFICs,
portable power supplies and inertial guidance.
Joseph W. Kaminski will have the title Chief Scientist and report to GTX Corp’s
Chief Technology Officer, Jb Bittner Eriksen. He is an internationally
recognized technology innovator, having more than 25 years of experience in all
stages of product development and R & D. He also has significant expertise in
engineering hardware, software and firmware solutions, with an especially strong
record in building and managing projects through to commercialization.
Mr. Kaminski has successfully completed projects for PARC-Xerox, Cisco Systems,
KLA-Tencor, Abbott Labs, HP Labs, IBM and Sun Microsystems. He is a founding
member of AIME (American Institute of Motion Engineers), an active member of SCS
(Modeling and Simulation International) and a 25-year member of SPIE (Society of
Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers). He holds nine patents totaling 222
intellectual claims in technology and computer industries, with several patents
pending in the field of Human Centric interface, video and power switch
technologies.
